Merry New Year!
"Want some beef jerkey? There's plenty, you know!"
I just got back from Sandy Eggo yesterday, after a ninja-style raid on the Sunshine State. I didn't have time to ride, or do much of anything non-family or New Year's related. D is still out there, 'cause her youngest sister is having a baby tomorrow. Ahhh, family...
Going out there made me realize how grateful I am that we live in Tejas now. People out there, in general, suck. They're shitty on the roads, and rude everywhere else. I think it has something to do with the fact that no one can afford to live there, and still have any kind of life outside of working 14 hours a day. At a job they hate. So they take it out on everyone else. Like I said, I'm glad not to be there anymore.
I did get in a good little ride yesterday and today, with today's chapter being out at the Madrone trail. I forget how hard that trail is. No climbs to speak of, at least none over 20', but it's really, really rocky. Reminds me how little I've been riding anything technical. The Marys are great bars. I like how they feel on the technical stuff, but my recent bar experimentation phase has me wondering, again, about how good the Jones H-bar would be. I gotta quit looking at stuff I shouldn't buy...
I gotta go take Zeke for a walk. Then drink another beer. And watch Batman Begins. Again.
